I love to find old things and give them new life. I'm a sucker for a good before and after, and that's mostly what you'll find on here. I'm not above dumpster diving either :)

Finally done!
The dining room is finally done. (pardon the lamp cord in the 2nd picture. It is bound up now but I hadn't done it when I took the picture) I also want to raise the back table a bit later but for now it will do
Picture Makeover
I had two of these pictures--one I showed in a previous post that I redid for the wall in the living room. I wasn't quite sure what to do with the other one, so I mod podged some scrap paper onto the squares and painted the frame. Now it hangs in Jenna's room--as if that room needed anything else in there! But I think it turned out pretty cute.
Before and After Curio
I have been waiting forever for this finished product!! Asked hubby to paint this cherry curio black for me, but he made the comment that he "gets tired of always having to paint stuff around here" which TOTALLY confused me, considering I am the one who paints everything around here. :) But whatever...so I go to prove that I can do the moving of that monsrosity and painting myself. There was a ornate scroll thing on the top of it--on the before pic you can see the holes where it had been. So I put wood filler on, let it dry and sanded that down first. One bruised elbow, sore back and a ruined outfitslater, here is the finised product. It was worth it. I am quite happy, and my dining room is complete....until I convince him to buy me that new dining table. :-)

Wall Letter
Jewelry Box Makeover
There was nothing particularly wrong with this, but it was your typical run-of-the-mill boring cherry wood jewelry holder. So I found - of course - a half a can of oil rubbed bronze and sprayed it down with two coats and just dabbed some silver and topaz metallic paints on the handles and the detail. Took 5 minutes literally! I am getting to where I feel the need to paint at least one thing a day this summer so this was the pick of the day.
