Repainted Orbs

I've had these two orbs forever and they needeed a little spicing up. I decided they were going to be used in the dining so I brushed them metallic teal and put a little faux silver finish on top of it to tone it down some, and did silver on the bases too. Oh and I painted the litte birdie too. He's sitting in a real nest that the girls found in the backyard

Before and After Dining

Please don't judge me on the green before. That color is so yuck and depressing; the whole room was. Way too traditional and boring. But I love the new gray. I didn't show the other side of the room yet because I still have yet to paint the curio, which is hopefully getting done next week but in the meantime here is a little bit of it. Dying for a new table too, but if not I wil be recovering the chairs again.

Before and After Wine Rack

I painted this two toned wine holder/shelf in oil rubbed bronze and added some color to the decor. Thanks Laurie for the plate! Can't tell much about it from the pictures really but it looks very updated.

Old Wine Bottles

Thanks Jackie for saving me the big ones! Made these for mom to put in her dining room too. Twine, bottles and beads.

Tray

Mom's birthday is today and I made this for her to match her dining room Tuscan theme.

Table Revamp

I found this table at a flea market and paid next to nothing for it. I really didn't like the lines of it but since I can't get a new dining table just yet and this is going to go in the dining room, I knew I could make it work. I sanded and painted it with black satin and rubbed turquoise metallic on the detail. I plan to get some pieces of tin cut to fit where the glass is now, but it still looks much better than it did originally.

Curbside Urn

This urn was left out for the trash to pick up until I got a hold of it. A little clean up, paint, and plant..

Desk and Chair

I found this desk and chair separately and total they cost $20. The chair is sturdy and in good shape so I sanded, painted, and recovered the seat. The desk needed a little work but nothing too major. I painted it and redid the handles. It's not totally complete; it needs one more coat of paint and I will probably add something to the front of the drawers but it's functional now so she wanted to go ahead and put it in her room.

Table Redo

Here is a table and chairs set that my oldest got for a gift a few years ago. She has since outgrown it and we had to make room for her new desk that I am in the process of doing and posting soon. Anyway as you can see this table has had lots of use. So time to redo it and pass down to the next kid. I used paint and scrapbook paper with mod podge and clear sealant. Cost was about $3 total for the paper and I already had the paint. It was pretty time consuming and messy but she loves it, so it was worth it.

Hairbow Hanger

I haven't made one of these in awhile. Did the usual scrapbook paper on the letter and glued two ribbons to the back and made a big tulle and ribbon bow for the hanger.

Painted Rug

I had seen somewhere that you could use acrylic paint on rugs so I thought I'd give it a try with this boring gold colored rug that was in my bathroom. I copied the pattern on a rug in my bedroom and here's the end result. By no means perfect but looks much more interesting than before. Took just a tiny bit of brown acrylic and not even 10 minutes.

No-Sew Custom Window Panels

I bought a table runner, cut it to fit and attached to the bottom of my existing panels with fabric glue. I really need to learn to sew, but it looks great in person. You can't tell!

Profile Ornament

I made this of my niece around Christmas. I didnt do it the conventional way though because I can't draw that well. I took a picture of her profile, then traced it from the computer screen, cut it out, and painted it black. I had painted one of those 99 cent round circles from Hobby Lobby and glued wrapping paper to the top of it. Once the profile picture dried, I glued it on top of the circle and put a picture hanging screw in the top of it and ran the ribbon through it to make it an ornament.

Before and After

I have two of these first pictures. Painted the first one's frame silver and added a piece of zebra scrapbook paper to the front, painted the gold G in oil rubbed bronze. It is going in a collage in the living room once my order from I.O. Metro comes in.

Newly Painted Stuff!

I am redoing a couple of rooms in turquoise, red, and silver. With some animal prints mixed in! The first pic of the plant urn, I actually painted it last year but it needed refreshing this year. It was just plain old boring gray, so I sprayed it with Krylon oil rubbed bronze and filled the scroll in with a gold/tan acrylic.

The second picture --I just painted one of the formerly rust colored balls in metallic silver instead of buying a new one. Those little balls are five bucks so figured I could paint one for free! Love the way it turned out. I love metallics right now! I have bought 3 new lamps that are silver or black metallic.

The last photo is of a former lamp base. I took the lamp apart and got rid of the parts, sprayed it white and went back over it with shiny turquoise acrylic. Was first going to use it as a candlestick but like this ball on it. May paint it silver too, or maybe red. We shall see....
